Remembryo is an IVF research and fertility education website founded in 2018 by Sean Lauber (Embryoman). The site analyzes and explains scientific research related to in vitro fertilization (IVF), embryo development, egg quality, sperm quality, and implantation to help patients understand evidence-based fertility information. Remembryo is an independent science communication website and does not sell products or jewelry.
Hello! My name is Sean Lauber and I sometimes go by Embryoman!

I have a Masterโs degree in immunology and a Bachelorโs degree in molecular biology with about 10 years experience in the lab, mostly as a research scientist (I was published in the International Journal of Cancer for my work). Iโve done a lot of cell culture and worked with many different cell types, which eventually led me to work as an embryologist for four years.
Iโm no longer an embryologist, but I now report on new IVF research through my website, Remembryo.
I started Remembryo in 2018 as a way to improve my own understanding of IVF. At the time I was working as an embryologist and hated not always being able to answer patientsโ questions. My first post was on embryo grading and success rates. I spent weeks digging through PubMed and reading as many research papers as I could find before compiling the information into a single post.
Around that time I created the name โEmbryomanโ to answer questions on social media. I was still working in a clinic and didnโt want to risk getting in trouble for talking about IVF publicly. The Facebook group grew quickly, and the questions kept coming.
To keep up, I made a post on PGT-A (PGS testing then), egg quality, sperm quality, implantation, and more. Many of these posts involved reviewing hundreds of studies and took a huge amount of time to put together.
To make life easier, I eventually started summarizing single IVF studies on Remembryo, kind of like an IVF science news site with a twist: lots of data!
Remembryo wouldnโt be as useful if the posts didnโt have the data. Sure, it might be more digestible to have quick summaries of the research (you can find those on my Facebook or Instagram), but the actual data helps people understand the magnitude of treatments, diagnoses, and outcomes. I think that context is important when people are trying to make decisions about IVF.
I started taking Remembryo more seriously around then, and since 2021 Iโve been publishing new research summaries every week. I also introduced a paywall to help cover the time and costs involved in running the site. Itโs still just me doing the research, writing the posts, and answering questions. What started as a hobby has slowly become my part-time job.
Alongside Remembryo and Embryoman, I also work as a freelance healthcare writer. My goal is to eventually work on Remembryo full-time, expand the site with additional writers, and translate the content into other languages. If youโd like to support the project, please consider subscribing ๐ย
