Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH)

AMH is a hormone that’s used to assess the ovarian reserve, or the number of potential eggs left in the ovaries. The ranges for what’s low, normal and high are controversial.

  • Low ovarian reserve = AMH <1.0 ng/ml (<7.1 pmol/l)
  • Normal ovarian reserve = AMH 1.0-3.0 ng/ml (7.1-21.3 pmol/l)
  • High ovarian reserve = AMH >3.0 ng/ml (>21.3 pmol/l)
Synonyms:
AMH, ovarian reserve
