A clinical pregnancy is a pregnancy that is detected by ultrasound or by other clinical means. So either a gestational sac is detected (around 5 weeks after embryo transfer), the yolk sac (around 6 weeks), the fetal pole (around 6.5 weeks), or the fetal heartbeat (around 7 weeks). In the case of a positive hCG test (2-4 weeks) followed by no clinical signs of pregnancy, this would be a biochemical pregnancy.
