Gravidity and parity

Gravidity refers to the number of times a person has been pregnant, while parity refers to the number of births a person has had past 20 weeks.

  • A nulliparous individual has never given birth. A nulligravida is a person whoโ€™s never been pregnant.
  • A primiparous individual has had one birth.
  • A multiparous individual has had more than one birth.
