๐ Story Snapshot
๐ฉ Age: 37๐ Years trying: Not stated
๐งฌ Embryo: Day 6 3BC+ and 2CB-, both euploid
๐งช Retrievals: 2
๐ฃ Transfers: 2
๐ Diagnosis: Low AMH/DOR, Uterine issues (fibroids)
๐ Outcome: Gave birth at 38 and 12 weeks pregnant at 40
I was 37 when I began my IVF journey.
I found out I had DOR, my AMH was <.6 so I knew I needed to act quick and was worried of what was to come. We chose to do mini IVF knowing Iโd get a low number of eggs, my doctor was hopeful to get better quality with this protocol.
I had my first retrieval, we yielded 0 eggs because I ovulated early and we did not know until they went in to collect. I was devastated. Having to do a second retrieval with all the shots was the last thing I wanted to do but did anyways.
Second retrieval was successful. We collected 6 eggs and ended up with two day 6 embryos. They were not graded well, a 3b-c+ and a 2c+b-. I was so discouraged from all that I read about poor graded embryos.
I decided to do PGT because of my age. Both came back euploid! I gained a little more hope.
I needed to have fibroids removed 5 days after retrieval. I waited 5 months to do a transfer. I was 38 and it worked! I had a son.
At 40, I transferred the other embryo not knowing what to expect but it also worked! I am 12 weeks pregnant with our daughter.

What would you say to someone whoโs going through what you went through?
โI want my story to give hope to women over 35 with DOR and worried about getting euploids. Also, for those who do not get the best graded embryos. The not so good looking embryos still make BEAUTIFUL babies!โ
