I have severe endometriosis that left me with severe diminished ovarian reserve and just one single partially functioning ovary at 34. My AMH is at 0.19 and with IVF I never got more than 2 eggs per cycle. With the latest cycle, I had 2 eggs and luckily both fertilized. Because of the very low number of eggs and embryos, my clinic decided to do a day 3 transfer.
I had a 10 cell embryo of good quality (although it showed vacuoles in the early stages of development) transferred on Day 3. I was absolutely certain it would not work. I took a home pregnancy test almost every day. I never got a positive result.
Then, the very night before my Beta test, I retested again at home, just to be prepared for a negative test. And lo and behold, it came back positive! The Beta the next day showed a strong positive. My daughter was born happy and healthy 8 months later and is now a very busy toddler.
