Biomarker

A biomarker, or simply a marker, is something that can be measured and associated with a biological process or disease. It can be chemical, physical or biological. Hereโ€™s some examples:

  • A high temperature is a marker for a fever
  • AMH is a marker for egg reserve
  • High NK cells or Th1/Th2 ratio is an immune marker for a dysfunctional immune system
