Segmental/whole aneuploidy

An embryo that has a portion of a chromosome deleted/duplicated is a โ€œsegmentalโ€ aneuploid (or mosaic). In contrast to โ€œwholeโ€, where the entire chromosome is affected. Example: 47, XY, +2 (duplication of the entire chromosome 2). Read more on my blog about PGS testing
