A 2025 randomized trial found that men who took the combined antioxidant supplement Impryl for six months had no improvement in semen quality or pregnancy rates, and in some cases slightly worse outcomes, suggesting that routine antioxidant use may do more harm than good for some male infertility patients.
Researchers in a 2024 study showed that by artificially removing the embryo’s zona (shell) right after fertilization reduced fragmentation, improved blastocyst development, and led to live births in patients with repeated IVF failure, though the findings are still preliminary and need confirmation in larger trials.

It found no clear advantage to any specific stimulation protocol or FSH type, no benefit from routine ICSI, and decreased live birth with assisted hatching, while more research is needed on blastocyst versus cleavage-stage transfer and on PGT-A with modern methods.
